Ujjain, Jan 22 (UNI) Lashing out at the BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh Government for neglecting peasants, Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh today said the government had failed to provide adequate power to farmers despite being in power for three years.

''The government claims to charge electricity according to usage but it is issuing 'anap-shanap' bills and collecting money,'' said Mr Singh, while addressing a convention of 'panchs' and 'sarpanchs' here today.

Refuting certain allegations levelled against him by BJP leaders, Mr Singh counted the achievements attained during his 10-year-rule.

He said if providing free power to agriculturists and waiving off their bills was a sin, he would commit them again on regaining power.

Launching a scathing attack on Hindu outfits, the Congress leader said these organisation were falsely propagating that population of minorities was growing at a fast pace.

He claimed that the decline in population of Hindus was in same proportion to Muslims.

Minister of State for Agriculture Kantilal Bhuria, former minister and legislator Ajay Singh and other Congress leaders were present.
