Modi scraps royalty on mud dug out of panchayati ponds
Ahmedabad, Jan 22 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today waived the ''mineral royalty'' on plain mud and other soil excavated while digging ponds by gram panchayats or the irrigation department.
Government spokespersons I K Jadeja and Saurabhbhai Patel, in a press release here today, said such mud was thus far considered as secondary mineral and royalty was charged.
