Metal prices hike on fresh buying support

Mumbai, Jan 22 (UNI) Metal prices hiked on fresh buying support together with London Metal Exchange, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.

In Ferrous section Copper heavy and Copper utencil rose by Rs 700 and Rs 200 per quintal respectively while Brass utencil and Brass cutting went up by Rs 100 per each per qunital on higher advice.

In Non-ferrous section, Copper wire bar, Aluminium Ingot and Zinc Slab increased by Rs 500, Rs 50 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively due to reduce stock supply.

Nickel Cathode edged up by Rs 15 per kg. on good demand.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 31,000, copper utensils - Rs 29,200, brass utensils - Rs 22,900, brass cuttings - Rs 25,100 and aluminium utensils - Rs 11,400.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 34,500, aluminium ingots -Rs 14,300, zinc slab - Rs 21,100, lead ingots - Rs 7,500, tin slab - Rs 605 (per kg) and nickel cathode - Rs 1,825 (per kg).
