Kohinoor Foods PAT up 46.18 pc; sales at Rs 181.61cr

New Delhi, Jan 22 (UNI) Kohinoor Foods Ltd today recorded a 46.18 per cent increase in its net profit to Rs 8.04 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2006 as against Rs 5.5 crore for the corresponding period last year.

The company posted sales worth Rs 181.61 crore for Q3FY07 as compared to Rs 140.43 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal, a growth of 29.21 per cent.

The company's Joint Managing Director Gurnam Arora said, ''With Kohinoor's foray into frozen foods, our diversification into high margin foods business is complete.'' Kohinoor Foods is further planning to increase the capacity of its ambient foods from 50,000 meals per day to one lakh meals per day and that of basmati rice from 62 mt/hour to 70 mt/hour.

The company also has plans to install steam turbine for power generation.
