Kasturirangan wins "Leadership in Space Technologies Award"
Hyderabad, Jan 22 (UNI) Noted Space Scientist K Kasturirangan was awarded the Map World Forum's ''Leadership in Space Technologies Award'' here today.
Dr Kasturirangan, who is one of the leaders of Indian Space programme, was presented the award by Union Science and Technology Minister Kapil Sibal coinciding with the Map World Forum attended by over 800 members of the World Geospatial Community.
Rolta India Limited won the award for Geospatial leadership in the country, while the ITC, the Netherlands received the award for capacity building in Geospatial Technology from Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, who presided over the function.
The ''Google Earth'' won the award for making Geospatial Information a public commodity and International Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing won the award for building photogrammetry and remote sensing professionals network while Mr Jack Dangermond won the lifetime achievement award.
