ISA Vision Summit in Hyderabad from February 5

Bangalore, Jan 22 (UNI) The two-day Vision Summit of the India Semiconductor Association (ISA) will be held in Hyderabad on February 5 and 6 highlighting the growing importance of India in the semiconductor field, especially in the backdrop of the recent in principle clearance of the semicon policy by the Centre.

ISA, in a release here, said that the Conference has attracted over 25 global speakers and more than 250 industry leaders would participate. The event would also see the launch of a study on the global competitiveness of India in the semiconductor design industry.

India had a growing electronic product market which was expected to touch US dollars 363 billion by 2015, growing at a compounded annual growth rate of nearly 30 per cent. The Semiconductor design industry was expected to grow to US dollars 43 billion by the same period with the base year of 2005 recording a turnover of US dollars 3.2 billion. ISA President Poornima Shenoy said ''It is the right time for India to showcase its capabilities and draw global attention to the potential of this market. At ISA our goal is to have India become a global brand in the electronics and semiconductor industry driven by technology and quality products''.

The theme of the Summit was ''Global Competitiveness-India as a key player in the electronics eco-system''.

Union Minister of State for Defence Pallam Raju would speak on the theme at the inaugural session to be attended by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minsiter Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
