HKHS to hold Rally in Bidar oon Feb 3
Gulbarga, Jan 22(UNI) The Hyderabad-Karnataka Horata Samithi (HKHS) will hold a Rally in Bidar on February Three in protest against the alleged indifferent attitude of the State Government in implementing the Nanjundappa Committee Report on regional imbalance, HKHS President Vaijanath Patil said today.
Talking to newsmen here, he said that the Rally was also to urge the State government to bring pressure on the Centre to amend Article 371 for according special status to the most backward Hyderabad-Karnataka region.
Mr Patil alleged that due to indifferent attitude by the state government the Hyderabad-Karnataka region has remained backward since a long time. " Previously we demanded for seperate statehood for the Hyderabad-Karnataka region, but after setting up Nanjundappa Committee, we gave up the demand anticipating development of the area. We may now have to reconsider earlier demand for statehood for Hyderabad-Karnataka region unless the Nanjundappa Committee report was implemented and Article 371 was amended to accord special status to the region.
