Governor to address joint session on January 25

Bangalore, Jan 22 (UNI) Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker Krishna today said a 15-day Session will begin with the Governor addressing a joint legislature session on January 25.

Talking to newsmen here, he said eight bills, including Karnataka Pawn Brokers' (Amendment Bill), Karnataka Transparency in Public Procurement (Amendment Bill) and Karnataka Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Drug Peddlers, Gamblers, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders and Slum Grabbers (amendment bill) besides five ordinances would come up for discussion in the session.

Atleast 870 questions and eight call attention motions would be taken up during the session, he added.

He said he has issued notice to legislators, who have failed to produce receipts for purchasing the lap tops.

Mr Krishna said despite necessary funds were provided to legislators for purchase of lap tops, some of them have not produced the receipts.

He said the disqualification case regarding Chief Minister H D Kumarswamy and 35 others would come up for hearing on February Three.

He said a Business Advisory Committee meeting would be held immediately after Governor T N Chaturvedi's addresses to the joint session at 1100 hrs on January 25.
