Girl attacked by lover, sustains multiple stab injuries

New Delhi, Jan 22 (UNI) A 24-year-old woman sustained multiple stab wounds after she was attacked by her lover in Uttam Nagar area of West Delhi following an argument.

The girl Monica, who worked in a private computer company, was attacked with a knife by her lover Monu (28) last night at their Om Vihar Phase II, Uttam Nagar 'residence' after a heated argument, according to sources.

The girl sustained injuries in her neck, face, ear and hand.

The accused, who worked as a driver, later stabbed himself, after which both were admitted to the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, where the condition of the girl is said to be serious.

Sources said the argument started after Monu heard the girl talking about 'marriage' with someone else on the phone.

Both got involved with each other about a year back but as the parents of the girl opposed the relationship, they had taken a flat on rent in Om Vihar and startad living together, sources added.

UNI
