Dubai, Jan 22: Iran has nominated Hojatollah Ghanimifard, currently director at the National Iranian Oil Company for international affairs, as the head of the negotiating group for the Iran-Pakistan-India (IPI) gas pipeline project, also called as the 'Peace Pipeline'.

Oil Minister Kazem Vaziri-Hamaneh nominated Ghanimifard as his representative for the talks, Petroenergy Information Network reported yesterday.

Ghanimifard replaces Mohammad-Hadi Nejad-Hosseinian, who left the post in December last year.

Nejad-Hosseinian said his withdrawal from the negotiating group will not make any change in Iran's general policies on the project, he was reported as saying.

The announcement came just ahead of the trilateral working group meeting on the Peace Pipeline that is due in Tehran on Jan 24-25.
