Dabur to set up unit in UAE at $ 5-10 mln

Dubai, Jan 22 (UNI) Dabur International, India's fourth largest FMCG company, will set up a new manufacturing unit in Ras Al Khaimah, with an estimated investment between 5-10 million dollars, a company official said.

Dabur has set up a wholly-owned subsidiary under Dabur International in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), Naturelle, under which the manufacturing and trading will be done.

The RAK unit, which is expected to be ready by early 2008, is Dabur's third manufacturing facility in the UAE with the other located in Jebel Ali and Sharjah, representing an investment of about seven million dollars.

While the new unit will cater to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) markets, Dabur which has manufacturing units in Cairo, is also looking to cover the US and Australia market, the official added.

The fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) company, which has reported 15 per cent annual compounded growth here, has interests in health care, personal care (hair care and skin care) and food products.

The RAK unit would produce the entire portfolio of Dabur products, including cosmetics, oral care, food products and other Ayurvedic items, he said.
