Contribute for scribes' treatment: IPC

Itanagar, Jan 22: The Itanagar Press Club (IPC) and Arunachal Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ) have appealed to all concerned citizen of the state to contribute for the media persons, who were critically injured in an accident on January 13, 2006 near Yingkiong in Upper Siang district.

Ratul Teron and Md Mubarak Ali were the only survivors from amongst six in the vehicle that skipped off the road on way to Boleng from Jenging in Siang.

While Mr Teron is recuperating in ICU at a hospital in Guwahati, Md Ali is awaiting operation at a Dispur Polyclinic.

IPC president Pradeep Kumar and APUWJ general secretary Rup J Pater here said despite the amount released by the state government for the treatment contributions from various quarters is also needed. The IPC and APUWJ had expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Gegong Apang, who had earlier personally visited the injured at R K Mission Hospital here and announced ex-gratia for the deceased and relief for the injured.
