Auto drivers launch indefintie strike in AP
Hyderabad, Jan 22 (UNI) More than 3.5 lakh autorickshaws were off the roads in Andhra Pradesh, as the drivers went on an indefinite strike in protest against the state government's order to compulsory fix digital meters.
Around 20 lakh people, mostly office-goers and students, who commute in autorickshaws in the city faced hardship following the strike.
Striking auto drivers deflated tyres of autorickshaws which plied on the roads.
The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation operated additional services to meet the situation following the strike.
