Ancient idols missing at Ballia temple

Ballia, Jan 22 (UNI) Unidentified thieves decamped with the 'ashtadhatu' idols of Lord Ram, Goddess Sita and Lakshman in Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh.

Police today said the incident occured in Madhubani village under Bairia police station area, where three ancient idols were found missing at the 'Mahant Ki Mathia' temple late last night.

However, the robbery came to light today, when Gram Pradhan Surendra Singh went to offer the morning prayers.

A manhunt had been launched to apprehend the accused.
