Shillong, Jan 22 (UNI) The tussle over the post of chief ministership in Meghalaya is likely to be sorted out at New Delhi after AICC chief Sonia Gandhi summoned both the warring leaders--Chief Minister J D Rymbai and his betenoire D D Lapang.

The latest summon of the two leaders was in the backdrop of last week's secret ballot electing a new Congress Legislature Party leader in the state.

Senior AICC leader in-charge Meghalaya de-affairs, Maj(retd) Ved Prakash supervised the party's electoral battle for the post of the Chief Minister.

The election of the new CLP leader was held on Ms Gandhi's directives following the ''inner squabblings'' in the party over the leadership issue since last June.

''Yes, both have been summoned to New Delhi to sort out their differences, ''Maj Prakash told UNI over the phone from New Delhi.

Maj Prakash informed the AICC Supremo would also open the sealed envelope containing the votes of the 29 Congress MLAs which would decide the fate of the two warring leaders.

''Ms Gandhi will invite us in a day or two and announce the name of the CLP leader,'' the AICC leader said.

Meanwhile, former Chief minister DD Lapang and his former Deputy Dr Mukul M Sangma left today for the national capital.

Dr Sangma, who was also in the race along with Mr Rymbai and Mr Lapang, later withdrew from the fray.
