Tomar evades comment on Bagri case
Bhopal, Jan 21 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party's Madhya Pradesh unit President Narendra Singh Tomar today evaded comment on the Lokayukta submitting a charge-sheet in court, without the state government's permission, against the then Minister of State for Water Resources Jugulkishore Bagri.
''At its level, the government will consider whether there is a need to amend laws,'' Mr Tomar, who is also the state Public Relations Minister, told journalists here.
When asked whether the Lokayukta should submit charge-sheets in other corruption-linked cases, the BJP leader said that the Lokayukta was free to contemplate on the matter.
The Lokayukta submitted the charge-sheet against Mr Bagri and BJP MP Ganesh Singh in a Satna district special court over alleged irregularities in appointments of 'shikshakarmis' in 1998. Mr Bagri put in his papers in the aftermath and his resignation was accepted.
