Tension, traffic blocked in Gurgaon after damage to Ambedkar statue

Gurgaon, Haryana, Jan 21 (UNI) Tension prevailed in Pataudi village here this morning with the local people resorting to traffic blockade after some unidentified miscreants damaged the statue of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar here late last night.

Agitated over the desecration of the statue, installed at Hailey mandi in Pataudi village, which was completely destroyed by the miscreants, the local people resorted to traffic blockade on the Pataudi-Gurgaon road for nearly two hours demanding action against the culprits.

The tension was, however, defused after the Superintendent of Police and the Deputy commissioners of Gurgaon district arrived on the spot and assured the residents that the statue would be rebuilt.

They also sought the cooperation of the locals in nabbing those responsible for the damage of the statue.
