Students ransack Rajouri sub-station, 9 arrested

Jammu, Jan 21: Agitated over the unsheduled power shedding, hundreds of students ransacked the Power Grid sub-station of Rajouri town in Jammu and Kashmir.

Over 700 students of PG Degree College Rajouri, yesterday gathered at Gujjar Mandi Chowk and started shouted slogans against the Power Grid authorities for the unscheduled power cuts of 16 to 18 hours per day, officials sources said, adding that they went berserk and damaged over thousand electronic energy meters installed outside the sub-station.

Sources said Rajouri police have registered a case under section 147, 380, 366 and 553 RPC against the miscreants and arrested nine students.
