Rymbai to discuss on NPS

Shillong, Jan 21 (UNI) Meghalaya Chief Minister J D Rymbai today left for New Delhi to attend a meeting convened by Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram on the proposed New Pension System (NPS) for government employees.

The NPS envisages a shift from the defined benefit to a defined contribution system.

Under the proposed system, NPS subscribers could invest their pension corpus in either of the four investment patterns-safe, balanced, growth and 100 per cent government.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would also address the Chief ministers on the issue.

State Finance Minister Dr Donkupar Roy accompanied the Chief Minister.
