Guwahati, Jan 21 (UNI) The ULFA exploded two more bombs in Asom today, killing one and injuring 19 in separate incidents of lower Asom.
Police confirmed that one blast occurred at Bohori in Barpeta district and another at Bongaigaon.
In the Bahari incident, one cobbler was killed and three were critically injured and still battling for life and shifted to Guwahati Medical College (GMC) hospital.
Initially, police thought all four were dead but later it was found that only the Kartick Hazian, a cobbler, died on the spot, while the rest were alive and fighting for life.
The bomb was a programmable time device and set up near the cobbler shop, where the people were assembling for an evening chat.
In another incident, five persons were injured when the bomb exploded in front of the Bongaigaon railway station.
Police said that ULFA deliberately targeted lower Asom so that pressure on them in Upper Asom was softened.
