Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti starts match making
Indore, Jan 21 (UNI) Alarmed by the growing number of unmarried teachers and employees in its remote and rural based Navodaya schools, the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), has started matrimonial services these days.
NVS, the autonomous body under the Ministry of Human Resources Development managing the Navodaya schools, recently has introduced 'match making' column in its official website, which provides information about its unmarried and interested teachers and employees.
It said ''in order to facilitate the marriage of employees, especially among themselves short bio-data will be placed on the website''. Till now 22 teachers and employees had posted their bio-datas for the purpose.
More employees had been requested to send their details for publicising them on the website.
Being cut off from cities and society, the problem of remaining unmarried till late age was taking grave shape in the Navodaya schools. There were large number of employees, who remained unmarried due to the structure of the schools.
The sources, however, could not provide the number of such employees.
There were examples when after marriage employees left the Navodaya schools or remained unmarried in the jobs.
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya had been established with the objective of providing good quality modern education to talented children, predominantly from rural areas.
Since the beginning of concept in 1985, till now more than 550 schools had been established in rural areas and each district of 35 states including union territories, enrolling over 1.5 lakh students.
