More than 95 per cent of BGML employees apply for Terminal Benefit

Kolar Gold Fields, Jan 21 (UNI) More than 95 per cent of the closed Bharat Gold Mines Limited have opted for Special Terminal Benefit Package (STBP) as the option ended today.

The Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) was opened on December 22-2006 and the scheme was modified on demand and the STBP was introduced, BGML Incharge of Company Affairs Rock Stoney said.

Of the total 3100 employees who were on the roll during closure 2850 have opted for STBP.

Union Government had come out with VRS twice in 2002 after the company was closed on February 28-2001.
