Maoists set fire to vehicle

Visakhapatnam, Jan 21 (UNI) Maoists allegedly set fire to a lorry owned by the Andhra Pradesh Coffee Development Corporation (APCDC) at Marripaka Village in G K Veedhi Mandal of the district early today.

According to reports reaching here, the Maoists, armed with lethal weapons, intercepted the vehicle proceeding to plantations and asked the driver to alight from the vehicle before setting fire to it.

Police sources said an alert had been sounded in the Andhra-Orissa Border following the incident.
