Kidney racket: Four hospitals under police scanner

Madurai, Jan 21 (UNI) Four leading private hospitals here, including two corporate hospitals, have come under the police scanner following the busting of a kidney racket in Chennai.

The city police have sought details of renal surgeries held at these hospitals in the last year.

City Police Commissioner M Chidambarasamy has formed a special squad to investigate the matter.

According to police, the four hospitals have been asked to submit the details, including personal history of the patients along with the surgeries performed. Doctors at these hospitals were reportedly questioned to get further information.

Meanwhile, a police official from the CB-CID, Chennai, is expected to arrive here this week in connection with the investigation into the racket.
