JKHC issues notice to Centre on passport to JKLF leader
Srinagar, Jan 21 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir High Court has issued a notice to the Centre for not issuing a passport to a Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leader despite its directions.
The court has also sent a notice to the Regional Passport Officer (RPO) in this regard.
JKLF General Secretary Ghulam Rasool Dar had applied for a passport a long ago. Despite verification by various agencies, the passport was not issued to Dar who then approached the Jammu and Kashmir High Court.
After hearing the arguments of the petitioner and the respondents on May 26, 2005, the High Court had directed the RPO to issue the passport to him within three months.
Despite court orders, the passport was not issued to Dar who then filed another petition.
During the last hearing, the High Court issued notices to the Centre and the RPO in this regard.
