Itarsi Municipality chairman and councillor die in road accident

Itarsi, MP, Jan 21 (UNI) Itarsi Municipality Chairman Vallabh Soni and councillor Kamal Badkur were killed on the spot when their car rammed into a tractor trolley containing logs near Bhopal district's Parvalia village, police said today.

Mr Soni and Mr Badkur were returning from a pilgrimage along with his friends last night when the incident occurred. Car driver R K Rathore and another passenger Rahees Qureshi were injured.

BJP MP Sartaj Singh and Hoshangabad district Congress president Vijay Dubey alias Kakubhai expressed deep grief over the demise of Mr Soni and Mr Badkur.

Mr Soni, a BJP leader, was elected as the Itarsi Municipality Chairman two years back. Markets in Itarsi were closed as a mark of condolence. The municipality employees union's president also condoled the BJP councillor's death.
