In 6 days, 2268 traffic violators booked in Kashmir
Srinagar, Jan 21 (UNI) As many as 2268 people were booked for violating traffic rules in the Kashmir valley during the past six days, an official spokesman said today.
He said a fine of Rs 76,150 was realised from them by police during its drive to check rash driving and violation of the rules.
While 81 people were booked for not wearing crash helmets, 160 for seat belts, 38 for unauthorised parking, 59 for over-speeding and 23 for not possessing pollution under control certificates.
Besides, 135 were booked for overloading while 33 vehicles were seized during the period, the spokesman said.
The traffic police also appealed to the people to strictly adhere to the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act and the Jammu and Kashmir High Court directions.
