Govt to follow rules on withdrawing ex-CM facility from Sibu: CM
Ranchi, Jan 21 (UNI) Confused over withdrawing the ex-Chief Minister facilities to the incarcerated Jharkhand Mukti Morcha chief Sibu Soren, Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda has said that any decision in this regard would be taken according to rules.
Talking to reporters last night, Mr Koda said Sibu Soren was not only a former Chief Minister but also a former Union Minister.
Therefore, any decision regarding withdrawing facilities would be taken after going through the rules and regulations.
'' At present Mr Soren is a member of Parliament and the state government would follow the directions from Loksabha on whether an incarcertated person could avail the facilities given to an MP,'' Mr Koda added.
The JMM leader, now serving a life term in Tihar jail for murdering his personal assistant, was shifted to Dumka Central jail after being produced before a Jamtara court on January 5 in connection with the three-decade-old Chirudih massacre.
As a former Chief Minister Mr Soren was given the facility of a government residence and a vehicle, two personal secretaries and a telephone.
