CRPF jawan arrested for raping minor girl

Jammu, Jan 21 (UNI) A CRPF jawan was arrested today for allegedly raping a minor girl at Kishtwar in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, a senior official said.

''Sanjay Kumar of 148 Battalion CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) located at Kishtwar was arrested on the charges of raping a 15-year-old local girl,'' SSP, Doda, Manohar Singh told UNI.

The matter, he said, came to the light when the accused, hailing from Uttar Pradesh, took the girl to the hospital for abortion.

''Preliminary questioning has revealed that he had been raping the girl on the pretext of marriage,'' the SSP added.
