Cong playing politics in Afzal Guru's case: BJP

Bhopal, Jan 21: The Madhya Pradesh BJP today alleged that the minority appeasement policies of the Congress had crossed all limits in the case of death sentence handed down to Parliament attack mastermind Afzal Guru.

''The Union Cabinet must take a decision in this regard soon.

The UPA Government could take a decision in this regard in view of upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly elections,'' state BJP President Narendra Singh Tomar told reporters here.

He was speaking after the conclusion of two-day meeting of newly-elected party office bearers.

Mr Tomar said the BJP Yuva Morcha would launch a massive signature campaign between February 11 and 17 at block and district level in Madhya Pradesh to make people aware about the reality if the Centre does not take a decision in this regard soon.

The President has sought the Union Cabinet's opinion over a mercy petition for Afzal filed before him.
