CB-CID questions Bishop Yobu Saravanan

Chennai, Jan 21 (UNI) Tamil Nadu CB-CID have questioned Bishop Yobu Saravanan, who was accused of misappropriating crores of rupees from contractors here.

Police sources here today informed that he was interrogated previously on the charge of cheating crores of rupees from the contractors under the pretext of building houses for the poor and properties worth Rs 1.5 crore were recovered.

The bishop, lodged in Central Prison, was being questioned in a cheque fraud case of one Ramalingam of Ashok Nagar.

He was detained for four days in police custody after being produced at the Egmore Court.

Following this, CB-CID police, led by DSP Chandrabasu and Inspector Sundareswaran, were on the look out for Saravanan's aides, suspected to be either in Bangalore or Mumbai.
