Businessman shot at in Dimapur

Kohima, Jan 21 (UNI) Unidentified miscreants shot at and seriously injured a businessman at the G S Road in Dimapur town yesterday.

Official sources said that the grocery shop owner one Moni Jain was shot at inside his shop at point blank range and the bullet hit his chest. He was immediately shifted to a private nursing home, where he was operated upon and the bullet was removed. His condition is stated to be stable.

Some workers of the shop tried to overpower the gunman, but he managed to escape dropping his .32 pistol and five rounds of ammunition.Police recovered two empty cases of .32 bullets.

Meanwhile, the NSCN (K) has claimed the responsibility of shooting the businessman for his alleged nexus with the NSCN (IM).
