Atal, Advani and cine stars to campaign for BJP in Punjab

Jalandhar, Jan 21 (UNI) Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani, BJP President Rajnath Singh and many cine stars inculding, Hema Malini, Dharmendra, Smriti Irani, Vinod Khanna and Dara Singh would campaign for BJP-SAD candidates for the February 13 Punjab Assembly polls.

Talking to reporters here today, BJP Punjab unit president and MP Avinash Rai Khanna said Mr Vajpayee had given conscent to tour Punjab for a day or two while Mr Advani would campaign for the party in the state for three days.

Besides, BJP Chief Rajnath Singh and party leader former Delhi Chief Minister Sushma Swaraj is expected to undertake a four day election tour to Punjab.

BJP general secretary and incharge of Punjab unit affairs Arun Jaitley would undertake extensive tour of the entire state to supervise the party election campaign.

Mr Khanna said cine stars including Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Vinod Khanna, Smriti Irani and Dara Singh had also confirmed their visits to Punjab for electioneering.

BJP is contesting February 13 election in the state in alliance with the Shiromani Akali Dal(SAD) and has fielded its candidates on 23 seats while the SAD is contesting the remaining of the 117 assembly seats.
