58 couples tie nuptial knot at Anand

Anand, Jan 21 (UNI) Fifty eight couples tied the nuptial knot today under the aegis of Avichal Dasji Maharaj at Sarsa, 7 km from here.

This is the fourth year in succession that Avichal Maharaj from the 'Sat Kewal Sampradaya,' has conducted free marriages for brides and grooms hailing from different communities within the Hindu fold.

''Today parents think that a girl child is a financial burden on them. To allay this fear, I am conducting these free marriages,'' he said.

On the occasion, he also gifted day-to-day utilities like cot, pressure cooker etc, to each couple.

Umreth MLA Vishnubhai Patel, Borsad MLA Amit Chavda and Anand Nagarpalika president Jayraj Patel were present here.

Avichal Mahraj, who has a big ashram at Sarsa, also runs a school.
