47-year-old Indian commits suicide in Dubai

Dubai, Jan 21 (UNI) A 47-year-old Indian, committed suicide by jumping from the footbridge over a busy street in Manama.

Chedacy Hamza from Kerala, working in the jewellery section of Bahrain Duty Free Shop, landed on a car on the King Faisal highway at 1045 hrs yesterday, reports said.

His body smashed through the car windshield injuring the Bahraini couple.

Hamza, married with two daughters, one of whom is in India, was working for the duty free shop for the past three years, after a stint with Dubai Duty Free.

His family had left for Kannur in Kerala a week ago, press reports quoted his friends as saying.

The police have ordered an investigation into the cause of the suicide.
