3rd chargesheet against Varanasi blast mastermind

Varanasi, Jan 21 (UNI) The third chargesheet has been filed in the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM)'s court here against March 7, 2006 blast mastermind Mohd Waliullah.

The police filed a fresh chargesheet in the court of CJM P N Srivastava yesterday against Waliullah in the pressure cooker explosive recovery case -- one of three cases pertaining to the March 7 blast -- presently being heard before a court in the Ghaziabad district.

Two chargesheets had already been filed in the court by the prosecutors under relevant provisions of the Prevention of Unlawful Activites Act, Arms and Explosive Substance Act and provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in the two other case pertaining to blast at the Varanasi Cantonment Railway Station and Sankatmochan temple.

All the three cases were few months back transfered for hearing to a Ghaziabad court, following a directive by the Allahabad High Court on the plea of Waliullah -- who was arrested from Phoolpur (Allahabad) in April last and is presently lodged in the Ghaziabad district jail.

At least 18 people were killed and over 100 others wouned in two powerful blasts that rocked the Sankatmochan temple and Varanasi Cantonment Railway Station within a span of 15 minutes on March 7, 2006.
