3 dead, 4 injured in wall collapse, case against builder

New Delhi, Jan 21 (UNI) Three persons died and four others were injured today after a wall at the Jharkhand Bhawan in South Delhi's Vasant Vihar collapsed during construction work in the basement.

A case has been registered against Gupta Builders, who were responsible for undertaking the construction of the building, police said.

At 1225 hrs, as construction work was going on in the basement of the Bhawan, located near Mizoram Bhawan, a supporting temporary wall erected for construction purposes collapsed, burying seven labourers under it, fire brigade sources said.

While three labourers died, four others suffered minor injuries after being buried under the debris, the sources said.

Fire brigade personnel carried out rescue operations for almost four hours.

The four injured labourers were admitted to the Safdarjung hospital, the sources said.

Police said action would be taken against all those associated with the construction work of the building.
