ULFA comes down heavily on ASS
Guwahati, Jan 20 (UNI) The banned United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) today came down heavily on Asom Sahitya Sabha (ASS) president Kanaksen Deka for criticising the outfit's demand for sovereignty.
In a statement issued here, the fugitive chairman of ULFA, Arabinda Rajkhowa, said ASS was acting as an agent of the RAW and representative of ''Indian colonial rule''.
He also dismissed the ASS's stand against ULFA's sovereignty demand as 'not a reflection of wishes' of the all-indigenous people in the state.
The ASS, a literary organisation in AsOm, yesterday termed ULFA's demand as impractical as the Constitution does not allow the government to even hold discussions on the issue.
ULFA had been maintaining that any dialogue with the Centre should revolve around its core demand for sovereignty.
