Superspeciality cancer hospital in Jharkhand by 2008

Ranchi, Jan 20 (UNI) Banglore based Health Care Global (HCG) Enterprises in a joint venture with SAC Hospital management and consultancy of Jharkhand will establish a State-of-the-Art Cancer Institute in the state by 2008.

SAC Managing director S A Ansari told newspersons here that the institue with latest treatment technology would be built by end of 2007 and be functional by March 2008.

Mr Ansari said governor Sayed Sibte Razi would lay the foundation stone of the institute tomorrow.

He said the institute, first of its kind in eastern India, would provide LINAC (Linear Accelerator) treatment facility, which was not available in the state so far.

'' About Rs 10 crore will be spend to construct the 30 bed insitute but we are planning it increase 20 beds more in the second phase by spending Rs 20 crore,'' Mr Ansari added.

Talking upon improving treatment facilities of the cancer patients Mr Ansari said about 13 more projects were in the pipeline.
