Several arrested in Bangkok NY eve bombings

Bangkok, Jan 20: Several armed force personnel and civilians were arrested in raids this morning by a special police squad probing the New Year eve blasts in the Thai capital.

About 15 military officers and several civilians were arrested in the raids at 18 places here and nearby provinces.

Local media reports quoted police sources as saying the arrested military personnel had not been charged and were detained for questioning under martial law provisions.
