Regularisation of contractual doctors not possible: Health Minister
Bokaro, Jan 20 (UNI) Jharkhand Health Minister Lal Hemendra Pratap Dehati today said government was not in a position to regularise the job of doctors appointed on contratual basis throughout state.
Talking to reporters here today, Mr Dehati said state government was passing through the phase of bankrupcy and could hardly pay the salaries of other doctors appointed on regular payroll, if the contractural doctors were regularised.
Accusing the erstwhile NDA government of weakening the financial status of state, Mr Dehati said the BJP-led government had vacated the government treasury before coming out of power.
Mr Dehati said demands of agitating doctors would be considered by the cabinet if they allow the government to take legal action against their private practise.
The doctors appointed on a contract basis went on a mass-leave from January 15 demanding regualrisation of their jobs.
At present only 3365 doctors were working on contract basis against the requirement of 7800 and their contract period would end in February leaving 2207 doctors in service.
