Railway contractor booked for trying to implicate engineer

New Delhi, Jan 20 (UNI) The CBI has booked a railway contractor for trying to falsely implicate an engineer on bribery charges.

The contractor, in his complaint, had alleged that a Senior Sectional Engineer of the Northern Railway posted in Delhi had demanded Rs 10,000 for clearing his pending bills.

However, investigations revealed that the complaint of the contractor was false and he had done so to implicate and take revenge from the engineer who had cancelled his railway contract and imposed fine on him for misappropriating railway properties.

It was also found that the contractor was having a contract with the Railways to supply khana-box, washing machine and installing desert coolers but because of his poor performance, the contract was cancelled and there was no pending bill of the contractor.

The case was registered under Section 182 IPC -- false information with intent to cause public servant to use his lawful power to the injury of another person.
