PMK supports TN govt's plea for re-writing Indian Constitution

Chennai, Jan 20 (UNI) The Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), an ally of the DMK led Democratic Progressive Alliance (DPA), today offered total support to the state government's plea for re-writing the Indian Constitution.

Party founder leader S Ramadoss, in a statement here, said the state government's demand that the Centre rewrite the Constitution in tune with the changing needs, assumed significance in the wake of recent Supreme Court's order on the ninth schedule of the Constituion.

As the Apex Court order sounded a death knell to the Reservation and Social justice, the need had arisen to re-write the Constitution to protect social justice and suits the present socio-economic conditions.
