Patil expresses satisfaction over tsunami rehabilitation

Puducherry, Jan 20 (UNI) Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil today expressed satisfaction at the progress of the tsunami rehabilitation programmes in the Union Territory.

Talking to mediapersons at the Rajnivas here, Mr Patil said he had visited Moorthipudukuppam and Veerampatinam villages where the houses for the tsunami affected people were constructed. ''It appeared that they have done a good job,'' he said.

He said many more houses were to be constructed and some were under construction. The houses would be constructed at the earliest, he added.

Mr Patil said there was no problem in the government here adding that if any, the Lt Governor, Chief Minister, his Cabinet colleagues and the two Parliament members would sit together and resolve them.

Later, he left for Chennai. Lt Governor Mukut Mithi, union Territory Chief Minister N Rangasamy, his cabinet colleagues and Parliament members V Narayanasamy and Prof Ramadass were among others who saw him off.
