No racism in US : Kelly

Patna, Jan 20 (UNI) There is no racism in America and all sections of society enjoy equal status irrespective of their race, Director and Public Affairs Officer of American Center at Kolkata G Kelly said here today.

Sharing his opinion on the alleged racial discrimination against Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty in a TV reality show on Channel 4 in the UK, Mr Kelly said racism was not good for any society and the US was strongly opposed to it.

''In America, all sections belonging to any race enjoy equal status and there is no such feeling there,'' he claimed.

He, however, said it is a TV show in the UK where public figures get publicity but such racial comments have an adverse impact and everyone should avoid it.
