Mulayam announces Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia each to rape victims

Allahabad, Jan 20 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today announced an assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to two girls students, who were allegedly raped by four persons on Wednesday night in Kareli area here.

The Chief Minister, who was here on a visit, announed the relief when his attention was drawn towards the alleged rape.

Two girl students of a madarsa residing in a hostel were forcibly taken by four armed men outside the madarsa and raped.

The miscreants had posed as policemen and forcibly entered the madarsa by breaking the doors. They also beat the warden and peon of the madarsa, besides some other girl inmates.

Police had already lodged an FIR and was investigating the case.

No arrest has been made so far.
