Monica case: Hearing postponed for January 23
Bhopal, Jan 20 (UNI) A local court today postponed hearing in a fake passport case, involving underworld don Abu Salem and his starlet-girlfriend Monica Bedi, to January 23.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Ravindra Singh postponed the hearing as accused-turned-approver Siraj's statement was not presented in the court.
Monica was not present in the court today.
Public prosecutor R K Motwani and defence counsel P C Bedi were present on the behalf of prosecution and Monica respectively.
In November 2001, a case was registered by the city police crime branch in the Koh-i-Fiza Police Station against Salem, his wife Samira Jumani and Monica for having fake passports made at the regional passport office using the fictitious names Danish Baig, Rubina Baig and Fauzia Osman respectively.
