Meghalaya to observes Netaji birth anniversary

Shillong, Jan 20: Several organisations in Meghalaya will commemorate the 110th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on January 23 in a befitting manner.

The Greater Shillong Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Birthday Celebration Committee has chalked out a variety of programmes with the hoisting of the Tri-colour at 0830 hrs at the State Central Library premises followed by singing of patriotic songs and speeches.
Candles would be lit at the statue of Netaji at State Central Library premises in the evening as a mark of respect to the legendary patriot.

'Prabhat Pheri' or birthday rallies would be taken out in various localities and it would converge on at the State Central Library before the start of the main ceremony.

The BJP will also hold a special function in this connection.
