Manpower shortage affecting Prasar Bharati: Ashok Panigrahi
Tirupati, Jan 20 (UNI) Over 600 posts are lying vacant in Prasar Bharati since 1994 and the government has failed to take any action to fill them, All India Radio and Doordarshan Staff Association President Ashok Panigrahi said today.
Speaking at the one-day South Zone Convention of the Association here, he said 42 to 45 per cent of the required posts were vacant, affecting the quality of programmes.
Coming down heavily on private channels for airing programmes that jeopardised Indian tradition and culture, he said Prasar Bharati would not be able to compete with private channels unless the required quality manpower was appointed.
