International experts to attend seminar on aerospace

Bangalore, Jan 20 (UNI) Alexy Fedorov, Director General-General Designer of MiG, Russia, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics President Haiyan Hu are among others who are expected to attend the international seminar on aerospace beginning in the city on February five.

Scientific Advisor to Defence Minister M Natarajan, who reviewed arrangements for the seminar, later told newsmen that such seminars and expositions would provide ample opportunities for scientists to exchange views on developments achieved in the sector.

Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) Director and Seminar Organising Committee Chairman G Elangovan, who was also present, said over 40 foreign experts would deliver address at various sessions from 13 countries. There would be four keynote speakers and four plenary sessions.

He said Defence Minister A K Antony would inaugurate the seminar on February 5. The technological potential of Defence Research Development Organisation and Aeronautical Development Agency in Aerospace field would be showcased to a national and international audience visiting the 'Aero India', the flag ship air show beginning at the Air Force Base here at on February seven, he added.

He said the indigenously built state-of-the-art Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) would participate in the flying demonstration on February 7. Three "Tejas" aircraft would take off from HAL airport and perform formation flying demonstration at the exhibition venue during the inaugural session of Aero India. One Tejas aircraft would perform aerobatic display twice a day on all the days. One Tejas Aircraft would also be exhibited in the static display area and would be made accessible to high ranking visiting dignitaries only.
